Having sponsored the WCOA in Australia in 2018, ISDC continued its support for upskilling current and future accountancy professionals by again sponsoring this four-yearly event, held in Mumbai. Over the four days of the conference, thousands of delegates visited the ISDC stand. ISDC attendees could interact with accounting professionals and specialist accounting bodies via conversations and formal sessions. ISDC also actively participated in launching the IoA Tool Kit for Accounts, which supports the accountancy profession as it becomes increasingly informed and powered by data analytics.
A key theme of this 2023 WCOA was Sustainability. ISDC’s Executive Director of Learning delivered a session entitled the elephant in the room. She reminded the audience of the absolute need to retain the momentum of the UN sustainability goals and pointed to specific examples related to the accountancy profession in India.
